Have you ever been to Nashville? Well, this past weekend,
I did! Let me tell you this, it was freaking awesome! It was one of the best
trips that I have ever been on. It renewed my like for country music, and I thought
that would never happen again. It came with a little depressed time because of
the actions of a couple friends, but eventually I got over that. I wasn’t gonna
let that ruin my trip.
On the way down there, there was a lot of sleep, a lot of
music, and a couple movies. I listened to my music for like four of the 12
hours that the bus ride was. Just to get used to the whole country thing in Nashville,
I listened to my country playlist on my phone. It consisted of all of the
country that my childhood was filled with. I liked it of course, but they weren’t
my favorite songs, but it reminded me of what I knew. Then there were the
movies, we watched Napoleon Dynamite (dumbest movie ever) and Inside Out
(amazing movie).
Then there were the show choirs that we watched once we
got there. Most of the girl groups that we watched sucked something awful. Except
for one. That on, Los Alaminos all girls group, could have beaten Happiness if
they were in our division. I’m just glad that they weren’t.
The night passes and it’s morning. We get up and we have
to practice for our performance. After that, we have to get on over to the
Grand Ol’ Opry. There we watch more show choirs. As this time goes on, I get
more and more nervous. We performed and it was all over. We get back to the
seats and we had awards to sit through. We ended up making finals and it was
freaking awesome.
Then as the night drew on, I went down to downtown
Nashville. Holy crap was that amazing. There were bands in every bar that we
went to. Music filled my ears and the smell of food and cigarettes filled my
nose.
