Eminem

Rap is a very big part of the music industry. There is good and bad rap. When rap is good, it has a good beat, a good meaning, and an awesome chorus. The bad rap is just bad. This kind of rap is usually done by lil Wayne, Jay Z, and any other young rapper.  The good stuff is usually done by one rapper in particular. He grew up in Detroit and when he wanted to go into the rap industry he got shunned by all the major rappers because he was white. But one rapper gave him a chance. This one rapper, Dr. Dre took him under his wing and turned him into one of the biggest names in the rap business. If you haven’t guessed who this is, The Real Slim shady, Eminem.

Eminem is freaking awesome. He is, in my opinion, the best rapper there is. All of his music either is funny, meaningful, or just flat out amazing. It has an amazing beat and he has all-around good songs. He was also the reason that i started listening to rap music. The first song that i heard by him was Not Afraid. My friend Nathan explained what it was about and I was amazed. I didn't realize until then that songs could have a deeper meaning than what is being flat out said. After that, for a long time, was a huge Eminem fan. I started to learn how to rap and soon mastered a few of his songs.
Years later I am still an Eminem fan. His song Rap God was issued to me as a challenge. It held the world record for fastest rap. It was at first a challenge, but eventually I was able to do it flawlessly. I applaud to Eminem to come up with such a song.

The Lonely Island

You know, there are some bands that are pretty amazing. There is The Offspring, Breaking Benjamin, Shinedown, and Three Days Grace. There are those crappy ones like Taylor Swift, Justin Bieber, and that one guy with the glass eye. Then there is the Lonely Island. They are in a whole division of their own. If I could describe them in a few words, they would be hilarious, amazing, ballsy, and very inappropriate. They may be inappropriate, but they are still amazing. The fact that they come up with the stuff that they do is unreal. No one would even think of putting the stuff they do into songs. This is mostly because of the fact that most people mature when they get older, but thankfully they did not.

I want to talk about their music. There are so many to choose from, but I know exactly which ones to talk about. I first want to talk about their song, I’m The Boss. This is a song that will go down in history as the world’s most random song ever created. It’s about going through a usual day of being “the boss”. It starts out by naming things that a usual boos would do during his/her day. Then things get real weird real fast. It starts out by saying he’ll shit on Debra’s desk. Then goes into saying things like sucking his dick, sucking another dude’s dick, chopping his balls off, meeting a giant fish and fucking its brains out, and bombing the Russians.  That’s not even their best song.

Everyone has heard their song, I Just Had Sex. It is a quality song. It really connects to people who, you know, just had sex. Featuring Akon made it just that much better. The chorus was amazing then the rapping parts were priceless. I learned that if you cry the whole time, if she kept looking at her watch, or if she was a racist, it doesn’t matter, because you had sex. Also, if she puts a bag on her head, it still counts.

They have a whole selection of songs just like those. They have one about jizzing in your pants, marrying a man on spring break and one about being on a boat. I can tell you that they are all quality songs. One was even performed by Happiness Inc. It’s called Jack Sparrow and is all about how Jack Sparrow is an amazing pirate. I would definitely recommend looking them up. You could learn valuable life lessons from them.

Ap Lang Reading

I love reading. It’s absolutely phenomenal! I could get lost in a book so easily and never want to come out. I’ve even had to have my mom take my book away from me, just so that I would come down and eat my dinner. This happens when I am reading an amazing book, and I am reading my choice. This doesn’t happen when I am being told to read and having to read a book that is as boring as watching the grass grow.

If you haven’t guessed what I am talking about yet, let me get you in on the rant, It’s AP Lang reading. It is so dumb! Not only are we supposed to blog 1200 words a week in three separate blog posts, but we also have to read 100 pages! It’s complete horse manure! I have a life outside of a language arts class. I’m in sports, I’m in show choir and speech. On top of all of that, I have other classes too! I don’t have time to be doing all of that crap!

Now remember, I love reading. It’s great, it’s like T.V. in your head. But when you are forced to read, it takes all the joy out of it. It feels more like a chore than something that is for enjoyment. Then on top of that, the book choices are freaking terrible. I am personally a factional reader. Fiction is amazing because you can do anything with it. But, the books that we have to choose from are probably some of the most boring books on the face of the earth. Then there are the non-fiction ones. Those ones could probably win an award for most pointless topics to write about.  Then the fact that we have to read them because we are being told to makes them even worse.

Then after the hell of reading a boring ass book, we have to freaking analyze it! Why not just put me out of my misery and push me off a cliff. Doing an analysis of a book that I didn’t even want to read in the first place is the worst thing that you could make me do. It’s like Ms. A was trying to find what exactly she can have that will make me go insane.

You know what they say, if you can’t beat them, join them. Well I say screw that! I haven’t done one of those yet. I am still on page 43 of a book that I got in September. I may be 1057 pages behind what I need to be at. But hey, I’m still doing fine in that class.

Rick Riorden

I freaking love Percy Jackson and the Olympians and the Heroes of Olympus series. I started the Percy Jackson series when I was in fourth grade. After the first book, I completely fell in love with it. I got lost in those books, and I didn’t mind. I really didn’t want to be found. Then a couple years ago, Rick Riorden came out with a sequel series to Percy Jackson and they were just as good, maybe even better. In total, it took me a total of 6 years to read all ten books. This is because of how long it took for each one to be released. Although that was very annoying, it was well worth the wait. The problem with it though, is how big of an ass Rick Riorden was during all that time.
Just so that you don’t get mad at me, there might be a few spoilers in this blog, just a forewarning.
During the time that he was writing the last five books of the whole Percy Jackson adventure, Rick decided that he wanted to be a complete dick to all of his fans. Now I get it, he wants to create suspense for his readers, but what he did was too far. He caused complete mayhem for the whole Percy Jackson fandom.
For example, it was right after the third book was released. He waited a little to let the whole United States read what he wrote. He ended the book with Percy and Annabeth falling to Tartarus (deepest part of the underworld). After completely shocking everyone with this huge cliff hanger, he decides to send out a tweet. It said, “I am contemplating on killing off Annabeth.” You can’t just do that! Why would he do that to all of his readers?! After five years, Percy and Annabeth finally started dating, and he told everyone that he was going to kill Annabeth right after their relationship just started.  It’s complete bullshit!!!!!! Thankfully he didn’t do that, but still!

That’s just one example of the hell that he put us through. It is probably the cruelest one. I just wanted to give everyone a taste of what a monster Rick Riorden is.

Shinedown

If you read my last blog, I wrote about the Breaking Benjamin and Shinedown concert that I attended. If you paid attention, you would have noticed that I only spoke of Breaking Benjamin, and said nothing about Shinedown. Well, Shinedown was the main event, so I have to say at least something about them. I have one word to describe Shinedown, freaking awesome! They were everything that you could want in a concert. It was loud, full of energy, great songs, and fire. That’s why Shinedown was the best concert that I have ever gone to.
Now, I’ve gone to music concerts before. They were all great. The atmosphere is always amazing, everyone listening to the same music, and appreciating it just as much as you are. It’s a beautiful thing. Shinedown’s concert, was the exact same thing. It was a combination of loud and wild, and beautiful and soft. The lead singer also had us do something that I thought was totally amazing. He had the people who run all the lights, shut them all off. Then he told the crowd to take out their phone and turn on the flash light. This lit up the entire room just as if the lights were on! It is simple but amazing. It showed that all the people in there were contributing to the concert in their own way.
Then there was the songs, oh my God the songs. They were all amazing! I only knew their most famous song, Second Chance, when I went into the concert. I came out wanting to get all of their songs on my phone so I could listen to them over and over again. They were so good in so many ways that it’s hard to explain. All I know is that when I heard a song that I liked, I fell in love. Each one has an amazing meaning and sound. The band did a great job of accompanying the singer and his amazing voice.
Speaking of his voice, it is definitely a gift from God. It is so amazing. He is a baritone, but he’s also a low base, but he’s also a tenor. He can do all three ranges of guy singing, and he has a phenomenal sound. He could also change his voice so that it sounded like a completely different person. I was astonished at the fact of this.
I would highly recommend this group for anyone. They have songs that appeal to everyone. They have hard core rock, meaning filled, soft and slow, inspirational, the whole shebang. I hope that everyone will look them up.

I recommend the songs 45, I’ll follow you, second chance.

Breaking Benjamin

I went to a Breaking Benjamin and Shinedown concert about a week ago, and all I have to say is, wow. It was freaking fantastic! It was so good that I think that it is worthy to post something about it on my blog. Now, for something like that to be worthy enough to be posted on this amazing blog had to have been something special; and let me tell you this, it was. So much so that I am going to have to explain everything. So I hope that you agree, if you went to the concert, that I am correct on everything that I say.

I just want to address the bad parts of their concert. It’s nothing major, it’s just a little annoying. First off, their lead singer told a group of people in the mosh pit to start waltzing in a circle. I have no clue why the hell he did that. It was so random and he said it out of no wear. Then also when he is performing, he stands in one spot for an entire song. I would personally like it if he would have moved around a little bit more. Then the last thing that bugged me was the swearing. I hear swearing all the time, it’s basic vocabulary of a high school student. But when he cussed, it was so awkward. I don’t know why, but it was.

That was just little things, now for the awesome parts. Breaking Benjamin opened with their song failure. Personally that is my favorite song by them, so when they came right out with it, I just about pissed myself from excitement! Then they went on with their songs and the room just kept getting better and better. They sang songs like Angels Fall, I Will Not Bow, Diary of Jane, and Give Me a Sign. Each song was just amazing. They sounded amazing and the crowd went crazy for them. Then in the middle of their concert, they came out with a surprise. The whole U.S. Cellular Center went completely black. Then, they came out with light sabers. Freaking light sabers!!! They did a tribute to the upcoming new Star Wars film. They had Storm Trooper helmets and everything! Then they did the Star Wars theme song on the guitar, and all I can say is that it was fan-damn-tastic.

Other than those first few things that I said I didn’t like, it was an all-around good concert. I like Breaking Benjamin a lot more than I did going into it. I would love to go see them again if I could.
