Connections

Everyone has connections to everything. We have connections to friends and family. Heck, we even form connections to animals such as cats and dogs. But you may not think too much about the connections to music, movies, and books that you have. I mean that’s what this whole blog page is about. That means that there has to be a connection somewhere, and there is. There are connections everywhere. The thing is, they aren’t always very easy to see. That’s why you listen more carefully, watch more intently, or pay more attention to detail. When you do this, I bet that you can connect to almost anything that you listen to, watch or read. In order to do this, all you have to do is put in a little more effort.
Music is around us every day. Whether it is bad or good music, all types of people can make a connection. Let’s start with all the bad music out there. I’m sure that a stripper can connect to anything that’s on the radio these days. It’s all about sex, money, drugs, and making it rain on strippers. Well, I’m sure that they do a lot of the sex, they probably do some sort of drug, and they get money by getting rained on on the daily. Then there are other connections that people make. For example, someone that lost a relative, they would connect to songs that are meant to mourn the loss of a loved one. Or, if someone is feeling free on any particular day, they could connect to and Fourth of July song. Connections are everywhere in the world of music, you just have to find them.
Connections can also be found in a movie. We have all connected with that one movie where someone lost their grandfather or grandmother. Everyone has experienced it. Then there are those movies where they are about relationships. How when someone breaks up with someone and they are feeling a certain way and you’re just like, “HOLY CRAP MUFFINS, THAT IS SO TRUE.” Everyone knows what I’m talking about.
The same is said with books. The thing with books is, you know exactly what the character is thinking or feeling at all times. Therefore you can connect with a book on a deeper level that movies or music. With books, you can see that you and a character think a lot alike. Maybe the two of you worry too much, or have way too much energy and come across people as annoying. With books, connections can be anywhere and are much easier to spot. That’s what makes them so powerful to all types of readers.

So, no matter what your preference to anything is, you can always find a connection. The only thing you need to do, is look.
