Movie Review: Spaceballs

Now this, this is what you call a quality movie. A movie, where all things are possible. A movie, that is like Star Wars, but in reality, it’s not. It’s more like an adult remix of it. It is a work of pure genius. Whoever came up with this movie needs to be given an award for being a freaking boss. This movie should be given award after award after award for being a work of pure comedy gold. This movie made me laugh as a kid and makes me still laugh to this day. This movie is Spaceballs.

The movie is about these people called Spaceballs. They have ruined their own planet, so they need to steal the fresh air out of another planet called Druidia. But not if Lone Star and his faithful mog (half man, half dog) Barf, can help it. They are on a measly cruise around the Galaxy, when they get a call from the king of Druidia. He tells them that his daughter has run away and will pay them one million Space Bucks if they find and return her. They of course take this job because they owe Pizza the Hut one million Space Bucks. When they find Princess Vespa caught in a tractor beam of a Spaceballs ship, they were instantly sucked into the adventure of their lives.

I personally feel like this movie is pure genius. They took each character from Star Wars and twisted their personality and came up with the characters for Spaceballs. For example, Darth Vader is a menacing super villain, but the creators of Spaceballs took that character and turned him into a nerdy, funny small person with a big helmet, Dark Helmet. Also, in Star Wars, it’s called “the force”, in Spaceballs they call it the shworts. They also take sayings like, “May the force be with you” and turn it into “may the shworts be with you.”

This kind of funny mockery takes place throughout the whole movie. Little hints of dirty comedy make it hilarious. I would call this guy humor. This movie is great for all guys, this is because we are all alike. We like dirty jokes, stupid comments, and funny people. I would not recommend this to any girl unless she can take stupid comedy. Otherwise this is an all-around good movie. It should be watched by everyone. Anyone who says that it is a bad movie, they’re wrong.
